Sleep Medicine & Executive Performance

It is not your fault
you are not
sleeping well.

High-achieving professionals don't lack discipline. They lack a sleep strategy built for the life they're actually living. With over two decades in sleep science, I work with executives to build what sleep hygiene lists never could: a system that works at your pace, in your time zone, under your pressure.

Where clinical science
meets real-world pressure.

"Most sleep coaches come from wellness. I come from medicine. That changes everything about how I work."

I began my career in 2004 at one of the United States' leading research hospitals, training under experienced sleep physicians and building a foundation in clinical sleep science that took years to develop. Over two decades, I worked across diagnostics, CPAP therapy, chronic care navigation, and patient education, learning not just how sleep works, but why it breaks down under pressure.

My clinical path moved from sleep diagnostics into care navigation, where I specialized as a Sleep and Cardiac Navigator. Alongside that work, I spent years in the sleep lab with combat veterans managing trauma-related sleep disruption and chronic hyperarousal. That experience gave me a depth of understanding in stress physiology and nervous system function that continues to shape everything I do with clients today. My contributions to the field were recognized in Florida Today, and I later served on the Board of Directors for the Florida Association of Sleep Technologists.

In 2021, I founded Laurel Ivy Consulting LLC and stepped out of clinical healthcare to work directly with professionals and executives worldwide. I hold a Bachelor of Applied Science in Health Administration and a Certificate in Laboratory Sciences, alongside my credential as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist. Since launching my practice, I have delivered over 3,900 one-on-one sessions totaling more than 2,000 hours, working with clients across technology, finance, media, manufacturing, and government sectors globally.

I am based in Valencia, Spain, and work with clients virtually across every time zone. When sleep breaks down, everything else quietly follows. My job is to help you change that.

Not a wellness coach.
A sleep scientist.

The advice most executives have received about sleep was designed for average lifestyles. Yours is not average. Global meetings, cross-timezone travel, and the sustained cognitive demands of senior leadership require a fundamentally different approach.

I treat sleep as a performance variable and a leadership asset. Every protocol I build is grounded in the clinical science of how sleep actually works, then translated into something a 12-hour meeting schedule can accommodate.

01

Clinical foundation, not wellness theory

Two decades in sleep labs and hospital settings gave me an understanding of sleep physiology that I bring directly into every client engagement.

02

Built for complexity, not ideal conditions

Jet lag, irregular schedules, ADHD, perimenopause, shift work, global teams. These are not edge cases in my practice. They are the work.

03

Sleep as a leadership issue

When sleep breaks down at the leadership level, it affects decision quality, emotional regulation, and organizational output. I address all of it.

04

Practical by design

Small, precise changes that produce outsized results. Nothing that requires a lifestyle overhaul or a week without meetings.

From first call to lasting results

A complimentary 20-minute conversation with no commitment. I listen, ask the right questions, and tell you honestly whether I can help.
2
Full Assessment

3
Custom Protocol

4
Ongoing Support
Regular sessions, real-time adjustments, and sustained accountability. Results that compound as the system matures.

What actually changes

"

She genuinely cares about the whole picture, how sleep connects to every aspect of life. I had never realized how much my daily patterns were affecting my rest. Building that awareness, then addressing things head-on, has been truly life-changing.

Coaching Client
"

The suggestions Laurel offered during our first meeting worked the first time and every night since. She has been life-changing. I no longer rely on melatonin or Benadryl.

Coaching Client
"

If you are looking for a coach who is extremely knowledgeable about the science of sleep and creates a safe space to be honest about your challenges, Laurel is your coach. Six months later, it is still working. I am overall a better employee, wife, daughter, and friend because of the increase in energy that resulted from getting better quality sleep.

Laurel helped me understand how day-to-day experiences and stressors directly impact my sleep and gave me practical tools to work through them. Building that awareness, then addressing things head-on, has been truly life-changing.

Before you reach out

Most sleep coaches come from wellness backgrounds. I spent over 20 years in clinical sleep medicine — working in hospital sleep labs, alongside sleep physicians, and with patients managing complex conditions including cardiac co-morbidities and trauma-related sleep disruption. I bring that clinical foundation directly into every coaching engagement. The protocols I build are grounded in sleep science, not lifestyle advice.
I am not a physician. I am a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Health Administration and over two decades of hands-on clinical experience. My work is coaching and education — not medical diagnosis or treatment. If you have a medical condition affecting your sleep, I work alongside your healthcare provider, not in place of them.
That is exactly what the Clarity Call is for. It is a free 20-minute conversation where I listen to what is going on, ask the right questions, and recommend the engagement that fits your situation — or tell you honestly if something else would serve you better. There is no pitch and no obligation.
Yes. My practice is entirely virtual and I work with clients across every time zone. I am based in Valencia, Spain, and currently serve clients across North America, Europe, and beyond.
That is the norm for the clients I work with, not the exception. Protocols are designed around real schedules including irregular hours, cross-timezone travel, and high-pressure periods. Rescheduling is straightforward and between-session support means you are not on your own when your routine shifts.
The first step is always a Clarity Call — a free 20-minute conversation with no commitment. From there, if we move forward, the next session is a full Sleep Assessment where I review your history, identify patterns and root causes, and build a picture of what is actually driving the problem. You leave with an action plan.
It varies by individual and the nature of the issue, but most clients report meaningful improvement within the first two to three weeks of implementing their protocol, depending on your dedication to implementing the changes discussed. Structural changes — particularly around circadian rhythm and sleep architecture — typically stabilize within four to six weeks.
Sessions are held on Google Meet. A unique link is automatically generated and sent to you when you book. No downloads required.
Sessions must be cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice are forfeited and count as a completed session.
Sleep coaching is not a covered medical service and I do not bill insurance directly. Some clients have had success submitting receipts to HSA or FSA accounts — check with your provider on eligibility.
Sessions are not recorded by default. If you would like a recording for personal reference, just let me know in advance and we can discuss.
